About Our Firm

A Firm Of Its Own Kind

"Sui Generis" — Latin for "of its own kind" — embodies our unique approach to legal practice in Guyana.

Established on November 6, 2023, The Sui Generis Law Firm was founded by Ms. Patricia Shepherd and Mr. Teakaram Singh, who developed their professional relationship while serving at the Ministry of Legal Affairs and Attorney General's Chambers.

The firm operates in accordance with established ethical and professional standards and maintains a client-focused approach to legal representation. Matters are handled with regard to the specific circumstances of each client.

The firm maintains three office locations across Guyana, facilitating access to legal services. Its practitioners collectively possess experience across a range of legal areas, enabling the handling of diverse legal matters.
